From Baby to Boy

A lot has changed with Matthew since I last did an update on him. He's now nearing the end of his 14th month, time flies! He's slowly becoming an independent toddler, both sad and exciting. He was pretty timid about walking at first but now he cruises all over adding in a little running. He tries to say most of the words we say to him. Some we can understand, some we can't. His newest and cutest is tickle, tickle. He can say it loud and clear. We go to a play group once a week called Wiggles and Giggles. He loves going and seeing his friends, although he's the only little boy. It's been fun seeing him grow and mature and being able to participate in more of the activities than he could when he started at 10 months.

Matthew loves playing with trucks/cars. Anything he can push around will keep him occupied for long periods of time (for a 1 yr old!). He also loves books just as much. We probably read at least 20 books a day. Sometimes it's reading the same 5 or 6 over and over. I have a bunch of books in a basket in the living room and he's constantly getting them out and bringing them to me. Then he crawls up on my lap and is content for awhile. He also really enjoys playing outside. We've had a really mild winter here in Kansas and have been lucky to be able to be outside a lot. We have a little playground right out our back door that can keep him occupied for hours.

Every day is a new and exciting day with Matthew and it just keeps getting better!
